Mixed surds can be expressed as entire surds.
Recall:

An entire surd is a surd in which the entire number is under the root sign.

Solution:

In the above example, the technique used to write the mixed surd as an entire surd is to square the number outside the square root sign and place this square as a factor under the root sign. That is:
